1. Order your system first
Arrive at your appointment with your Afro Majesty and your adhesive kit. Your barber only does the fitting and the cut, so you know exactly what you are wearing and what you are paying for.
2. Ask these questions before you book
- “Do you install hair systems the client brings?” Most barbers who do hair units say yes. Ask for the price of the fitting alone.
- “Can I see your before-and-after work?” Look at their Instagram or TikTok for recent installs on afro hair.
- “How do you blend the hairline and the sides?” A good barber cuts the system and your own hair together so they read as one.
- “Do you offer maintenance appointments?” Plan a touch-up every 2 to 4 weeks.

Search Instagram, TikTok, Booksy or StyleSeat for “hair unit”, “man unit” or “hair system install” + your city. Choose a barber with recent, clear photos and real client reviews.
